Hundreds of SRA staff set to move to Birmingham
HUNDREDS of employees from a Leamington-based organisation will be moved to work in Birmingham by the end of the month.
The Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) has confirmed a phased move of its staff to new premises at The Cube.
The SRA will be occupying two-and-a-half floors of the distinctive building behind the Mailbox, bringing together more than 600 staff - of whom about 250 work in Redditch and 350 work at the Tachbrook Court office in Leamington.
All staff, except for security personnel, will have vacated the Leamington site by Monday October 1.
Mike Jeacock, executive director, said: “Leamington has been a good host, and will continue to be a good host for others.
“But having our staff on split sites was untenable, and The Cube offered an attractive central location for us to bring everyone together.”
Chief executive Anthony Townsend said the aim of the move, which has been two years in the making, was to streamline the organisation’s operations, improve its effectiveness and reduce its operating costs.
He said The Cube offered excellent value for money.
