LEAMINGTON town centre fell silent on Sunday as hundreds gathered to pay tribute to servicemen and women killed in action.

Crowds lined the streets and held a minute’s silence to mark the Armistice, signed at 11am on November 11, 1918.

After standards were presented, the Rev Bill James of Emmanuel church, Leamington introduced the service, which featured readings from Leamington mayor Cllr Yvonne Moore, prayers and hymns, with music from Cubbington Silver Band and the choir of All Saints church.

Scouts, emergency services, veterans and dignitaries took part in the parade, with representatives from many groups laying wreaths at the memorial in Euston Place.
