Glass at Victoria Park is dangerous

editorial image

Letter to Warwick District Council, forwarded to The Courier: I feel the need to report to you my complete disgust at the state of the play area within Victoria Park, Leamington Spa.

On Saturday July 21, my eight-year-old son managed to stop my two-year-old daughter from serious injury from broken a glass bottle on the grass outside of the infant play area.

Should my daughter have been injured, I would have looked to seek legal action against Warwick District Council (WDC) for neglect of the park.

Not only the play area but the paddling pool and surrounding grassed areas are littered with broken bottles as shown in my attached photos.

WDC need to adopt an approach where the park play areas are house kept early morning each day to ensure potential risks are removed from the night before. It simply is not acceptable! - Paul Sykes, via email.
