Stay loyal to our existing local shops

Once again, the big brother supermarkets and planners have combined to force an unwanted new supermarket store on the public - this time, a new Co-op store on the Woodloes.

The impact on our superb local shops will be catastrophic - we the customers only have so much money available to spend and it stands to reason that if locals spend at the new store they will reduce what they spend locally.

Having successfully stopped Tesco from opening on the site, we are now faced with planning permission being given to the Co-op. Well I for one will not be using the new store when it is built - and I have hopes that common sense will prevail in the end - but if it is, I hope that all locals will avoid using it and stay loyal to those we already have. - Mick Potter, via email.
