Travellers back and causing damage

Once again the playing fields in Whitnash, Harbury Lane, have been taken over by members of the travelling community. Within 48 hours of their arrival there was evidence of human excrement as well as significant damage caused by the inconsiderate vermin driving their vehicles into the very same nature reserve then trashed last year when they were here. No doubt their arrival will put a temporary halt to anyone’s sporting ambition on the field in the coming weeks.

The police have been contacted and were “despatching a unit to take vehicle registration numbers”. This seems like a pointless exercise when the complaint raised was due to them breaking in to the field through the newly erected fence and smearing their own waste around a nature area. - Richard Lowery, Whitnash resident, via email.
