Police appeal for witnesses after two incidents at the same address

POLICE are appealing for witnesses to a burglary in Leamington at the end of last week.

The incident took place at a house in Clarendon Square between 10.30pm on Thursday and 6.30am on Friday.

The thief or thieves smashed a rear window to lean in and steal three iPods from the kitchen. Two mountain bikes were also taken from an outbuilding.

Officers are carrying out house to house enquiries and appealing for witnesses.

They are also investigating a suspicious incident which took place at the same address yesterday (Sunday) when the occupant saw a man on the driveway coming out of the garage.

The occupant asked him to wait while he called the police but the man punched him before running away. The occupant gave chase in bare feet onto Clarendon Square, Beauchamp Hill and then onto Warwick Terrace where he lost the man.

Police are keen to identify the offender who is described as being about 35 years old and white with a tanned face and collar-length dark hair.

He was wearing a red rain coat and dark jeans and had a black rucksack at the time of the incident.

Call Leamington Police on 415000 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
