Lorry driver dies in crash in Wellesbourne

A lorry driver has died following a crash in Wellesbourne yesterday (Tuesday April 1).

Ambulance crews and an air ambulance were called to the scene on the A429 at around 3.25pm, where they saw that the lorry, a blue Renault Arctic that was travelling towards Wellesbourne, had come off the road, turned on to its side and crashed into a tree.

An ambulance spokesman said: “Unfortunately, it quickly became apparent that nothing could be done to save the man and he was confirmed dead at the scene.”

Police would like to hear from anyone who was travelling on the A429 between Wellesbourne and Ettington, in either direction , between 3pm and 3.30pm on Tuesday who may have seen the blue Renault Artic lorry before the collision.
