The A452 (Kenilworth Road) will be closed between the roundabout at the Ramada Hotel at Chesford and the roundabout at Old Milverton Lane near the Nuffield Hospital from Monday April 14 until Wednesday April 30 so that engineers from Western Power Distribution can install 33kv cables underneath the road.

A spokeswoman for the company said the works are part of a wider project to improve electricity network reliability across Warwick district.

She said: “The project will be ongoing between Coventry and Warwick throughout the spring and summer. This is to ensure that there is a better supply for customers.”

The spokeswoman was unable to provide information about when and where future road closures implicated will take place, but she said there will be road signs in place to warn motorists.

Meanwhile, work by Severn Trent on Leamington’s sewer network has been complete in High Street and has moved on to Althorpe Street up to Camberwell Terrace. Work on Radford Road will start on April 14 and is expected to be complete by early May. The overall sewer works, which are costing £11 million, are expected to be finished this autumn.

Severn Trent’s senior programme engineer Chris Keys is encouraging Leamington residents to help keep the new sewers in good condition by not flushing sanitary products, wipes or nappies down the toilet and not pouring cooking fat down the sink.
