Man airlifted to hospital after collision

A 43-year old man was airlifted to hospital after two vans collided near Kenilworth on Monday afternoon.

The incident happened around 5pm on May 19 along carriageway just outside the town.

The impact of the collision caused one van to roll onto its side along a the verge of the road and left one man with serious head injuries.

A community first responder and the West Midlands Ambulance Service were first on the scene to assess the patient.

The Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance arrived on the side of the road at around 5.15pm.

At which time the man was also complaining of neck and back injuries.

He was stabilized before being airlifted to University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire for treatment and assessment.

The patient arrived at the hospital at 5.40pm but his current condition is unknown.

No-one else is believed to have been hurt in the incident and the road was reopened.
