Man attacked with glass bottle at Eagle Recreation Ground in Leamington

A man was attacked with a glass bottle by a gang of robbers as he walked through Eagle Recreational Ground in Leamington on Monday.

The incident happened at about 6.30pm near the AGA Rangemaster factory.

Police said that four men approached their victim from behind and physically assaulted him with the bottle. They then stole the victim’s mobile phone and made off in a black Vauxhall Astra in the direction of Clarence Street and High Street.

The victim, a 31-year-old man, sustained minor facial and head injuries requiring hospital treatment.

Three of the men were white and the other was black. They are believed to be in their 20s and were wearing smart casual clothing.

Police are eager to hear from anyone who saw the vehicle or the men in the area at the time. Call police on 101, quoting incident 270 of Monday 20 April.
