While the council has already prepared the new timetables for Newbold Comyn Leisure Centre in Leamington, St Nicholas Park Leisure Centre in Warwick and Abbey Fields Swimming Pool in Kenilworth, it is asking those who use the centres to submit their feedback so staff can see whether alterations need to be made.

Once the new timetables come into force later in the spring, the new opening times for the pools at Newbold will be Monday to Friday 6.30am to 9.30pm, Saturday 6.30am to 6pm and Sunday 6.30am to 9pm; at St Nicholas Park, Monday to Thursday 6.30am to 9.30pm, Friday 6.30am to 9pm and Saturday and Sunday 7.30am to 6pm; and at Abbey Fields, Monday to Friday 6.30am to 9pm and Saturday and Sunday 7am to 5pm.

Casual public swimming sessions have been reduced to make more time for lane swimming, over-50s and ladies-only sessions, children’s sessions and time for lessons, classes and club sessions. There will also now be slots for non-swimmers, weak swimmers, parent and toddlers and parties.

A council spokesman said: “We recognise that we have a wide range of customers using our facilities, and that opinions will vary depending on individuals circumstances, but we have based our review on attendance figures and ad hoc feedback from customers.

“We now need your help to tell us whether you think we have got it right and whether it provides you with more opportunities to get your 30 minutes activity 5 times a week.”

The revised timetables and feedback forms are available online and at each of the three centres. The feedback forms must be submitted by Tuesday May 11.
