Nick’s Hair Salon in Leamington’s High Street has been named the Courier and Weekly News Salon of the Year 2014.
Nicky Sanghera, who set up the business nine years ago and also owns a men’s barbers next door along with a second salon in Kenilworth, has thanked her customers for casting their votes and helping her to beat scores of other nominations.
Nicky, a mother of four including triplets and the current Mrs Warwickshire in the Mrs UK World competition, said: “We have a good base of customers who are very loyal - when the competition launched they were keen to vote for the salon.
“Whenever I saw that there were hardly any papers left in supermarkets and shops I thought it might be them trying to get hold of a coupon to vote.
“Normally we can have about 35 people come in but we can see up to 60 people on our busiest days.
“We look after our customers by always offering deals and discounts, particularly for students, children and older people and it keeps a lot of people happy.”
We asked readers to vote for the salon you felt went that one step further for their customers.
The Courier and Weekly News were looking for the best blow-dries, perfect haircuts, neatest threading, hottest self-tans, the most relaxing massages, fantastic facials or the most glamorous nails.
Whether it was the way your salon colours your hair, the extra little touches they offer or the friendly welcome they give we wanted to hear from you.
This year’s shortlist included Blaze, Gianluca, Vogue International, The Salon, Nicola Smythe Award-Winning Hair and the Hair & Beauty Salon at Warwickshire College - all in Leamington - Hair Management in Warwick, Saks and Serious Style in Kenilworth and The Cuttin Crew and Preens in Southam.
