Firefighters rescued a person from a Leamington house fire late at night after flames spread from an upstairs bedroom.

Three fire engines were called to Lillington Road just after 11pm on Tuesday when calls to emergency services were made.

The flames were found in the front bedroom on the second floor of the three-storey house.

A spokesperson from Warwickshire Fire and Rescue Service said two engines from Leamington were initially sent, but another from Kenilworth arrived once crews realised a person was trapped inside the building.

The person, whose age and condition is not yet known, was led out of the house by fire crews.

Emergency services remained at the scene until around 3am.
