Police investigate incident in which man attempted to unclip child from pushchair

Police are investigating an incident in which a man tried to unclip a two-year-old boy from his pushchair on the Parade in Leamington yesterday (Monday).

The incident took place outside Poundland at about 10.30am as the child’s mother stepped to one side to place something in a litter bin.

There was a brief verbal altercation before the man left in the direction of Tesco.

The man is described as white, 5ft 10ins tall, of slim build with a shaved head, wearing jeans and a leather jacket that was dark in colour.

The incident is being investigated by detective officers.

CCTV is being viewed and additional officers have been deployed in the area.

Anyone who was in the area 10am and 10.30am yesterday (Monday), and saw anything believed to be suspicious involving a child in a pushchair, is urged to call Warwickshire Police on non-emergency number 101, quoting incident number 313 of March 23 2015.
