Seven new jobs have been created at the refurbished Fusilier pub in Sydenham, which is re-opening after a period of closure.
The redecorated pub, which overlooks the Grand Union Canal in Sydenham Drive, is throwing a VIP party on August 7 to celebrate its new look.
As well as the refurbishment and a new food menu, a £235,000 investment by pub owner Punch Taverns has meant it has been able to take on an extra seven members of staff. It also now has eight screens which will show a variety of sports events.
Licensee Donna, who took on the pub in June, said: “The team and I look forward to welcoming some old and new faces back to the pub to celebrate the new look with us.”
