Reappeal for witnesses after fatal collision in Claverdon

Police are reappealing for witnesses to a fatal road collision near Claverdon which happened last month.

The incident took place at the canal bridge near the Crabmill pub on the A4189.

A Mercedes C220 estate travelling towards Claverdon and a Volvo S40 travelling in the opposite direction were involved in a head-on collision.

A third car, a Kia Piccanto, was then in collision with the Volvo.

The driver of the Volvo, a 36-year-old man, died at the scene.

The driver of the Mercedes, a 78 year-old man, was taken to hospital with leg injuries.

The occupants of the Kia were not injured.

Police are still keen to speak to anyone who may have stopped at the scene or witnessed the collision, but have not yet been in contact.
