Among the events taking place was a ‘meet the guide dogs’ drop-in at the library at the Pump Room in Leamington on Monday, where visitors were able to see some guide dogs and chat to blind and partially-sighted people who use them, as well as staff and volunteers from the Guide Dogs For The Blind charity. There was also a sensory tunnel which gave people a chance to experience what it might feel like to have no or little sight.

For those who like the outdoor environment, Foundry Wood in Leamington gave people the chance to learn how to use natural materials to create original arts and crafts pieces, including willow sculptures and candles. There was also a ‘family forest schools day’ at which families could learn how to light and cook at an open fire, work with clay and tools, build a den, forage for food and pick up other outdoor skills.

At the Market Hall Museum in Warwick, children could ‘meet the Romans’ - including a Roman soldier - and learn all about how they led their lives.
