The supermarket’s community champion Jo Butler and colleagues have been hosting a Strawberry Tea stall at the store in Chesterton Drive, as part of a drive to encourage people to host a tea party in aid of the charity.

Events can be in someone’s house, at a workplace or community location.

The stall at Asda - which will be in place at the store until Saturday (June 18) - includes activities such as cupcake decorating and a teapot lucky dip, as well as information about how to join in the campaign and details about Breast Cancer Care.

Jo said: “We are delighted to support Breast Cancer Care’s Strawberry Tea campaign. The money raised through Strawberry Teas makes a real difference to people affected by breast cancer.

“It was fantastic to see so many people come and show their support and pledge to host their own tea parties. Our colleagues and customers across Warwickshire and the rest of the UK have always been incredibly supportive of our fundraising activities and I know this time will be no different.”

Hannah Branch, community fundraising manager at Breast Cancer Care, said: “We’re delighted Asda colleagues and customers are supporting Breast Cancer Care and Strawberry Tea this summer.

“We’d love more people to gather friends and family to host their own afternoon tea. The funds raised through each and every Strawberry Tea enable Breast Cancer Care to continue to be there for anyone facing breast cancer, from day one.”
