Bass in the Park, covering music genres including drum and bass, jungle and bassline, was due to run at the Jephson’s venue in Jephson Gardens from 4pm to midnight last Saturday with headline acts including MC Bassman, Voltage and Skepsis and DJs from in and around Leamington.

But the event, open to over-18s, was brought to an early end leaving several party goers disappointed and angry and they have posted on the event’s Facebook page demanding a refund for their tickets, which were bought on the Fatsoma.com website costing about £10.

The organisers have posted a message on the Bass in the Park Facebook page explaining the issues they faced on the day of the rave, which they have said centred around having to work with a new events manager for the Warwick District Council-owned venue who “did not know the logistics of the event” despite it having been booked three months ago.

They have said: “Not only were we starting to see a build up to queue into the event, but also had people without valid tickets gaining entry via unlocked doors round the corner from the newly appointed entrance point.

“At this point the writing was on the wall and it was only a matter of time before it was going to come to a stop.”

Warwickshire Police have confirmed that officers attended the venue at about 7pm in response to reports of antisocial behaviour and then made the decision to close the event due to public safety concerns.

Bass in the Park has vowed to put on another event at a different venue for which tickets bought for the Jephson’s event would be valid.

The organisers have said: “We understand the anger and disappointed so we aren’t just going to try and blow all of this over. We want to give you the party you were expecting. Now what we are proposing is that we reschedule the event - not at Jephson Gardens obviously - within the next couple of months at a different venue.

“And that this will of course mean that your tickets are still valid.”
