A new design for the ticket office at Kenilworth Station has been revealed after Warwickshire County Council (WCC) officially confirmed the target opening date to be August 2017.

Two preserved stained glass windows from the original ticket office have been incorporated into the new office’s design.

Seating has also been added into the design, and the whole station will have public Wi-Fi access.

Following previous reports in the Weekly News, WCC has said construction on site will begin this year and should be completed by early 2017.

In Spring 2017, Network Rail will be carrying out infrastructure works such as signalling upgrades and relaying the track through Kenilworth.

Rolling stock to use on the line should become available by August 2017, and timetables are being remodelled in preparation for the start of services, which will head between Leamington and Coventry every hour.
