Warwick citizens take a walk on patriotic side

No less a figure than England’s patron saint, St George - of dragon fame - could be seen riding through the streets of Warwick last Saturday.

And while there was not one terrifying beast in sight, there were nearly 200 Scouts, several town and district councillors, not to mention the Shakespeare Morris Men.

St George himself came on loan from nearby Warwick Castle where the Horrible Histories season is going down a storm.

Adding music to the procession were The New Washboard Syncopators with acrobatics courtesy of Circus Vogue, Heartbreak Productions and Cirq De Light.

Organiser Nikki Curwood said: “There was a fantastic atmosphere in the town all day.”
