Kart racer, William Attreed, will be racing in the 2017 Super One British Karting Championship after a sponsorship and fundraising campaign.

The twelve-year-old will compete over seven rounds at tracks all over the country starting in April.

William’s parents, Simon and Katherine, began fundraising at the start of the year to help make their son’s dream come true - setting up a Just Giving page for donations, seeking business sponsorship.

A sell-out quiz night with 13 teams at the Chase Meadow Community Centre raised £348.50 which will go towards entry fees and tyres.

They have now secured William’s first sponsor, the Rotary Club of Warwick.

Katherine said: “We’re looking forward to formally welcoming the Rotary Club of Warwick on board and promoting all the fantastic work they do to support the community.”

“Everyone has been so excited and supportive of me,” said William. “It makes me even more determined to do well.”

Katherine added: “If you run a business that would be interested in supporting William, or if you know someone that does, further sponsorship opportunities are still available. Please contact [email protected].”
