Warwickshire College musicians rock for the Myton Hospices

Music students at Warwickshire College put on a concert at the Newbold Comyn Arms in Leamington to launch their album No Half Measures and to raise money for The Myton Hospices.

The 12 committed BTEC Music Technology students have produced the 14-track No Half Measures album all written, produced and performed by them - which was released as part of the concert hosted by the Newbold Comyn Arms in Newbold Comyn last Friday,

All proceeds from the launch event will go to the hospices charity.

The compilation album, a diverse range of music styles including pop, bluegrass, dubstep and metal, was performed in front more 120 people including BBC CWR radio presenter Annie Othen, professional harmonica player Will Pound and bass guitarist Wayne Matthews.

The band - MuTech Recordings - which has also been busy organising dance and club nights to fund the album, comprises DJs DryTek (Jake Drysdale, OHM Records), Vulcanodon (Farhad Ahmed), guitarist Joe Scoltock, producers Jake Lenton and Kandy (James Cane) as well as multi-instrumentalist Craig Wall and musicians and songwriters Laura Beck, Adam Udell, Robert Murray, Conor Marshall, Jacob Morrison and Tom Wheeler.

Craig said: “Each member has been involved in songwriting, mixing and engineering for one another which has created a close and hardworking relationship between members of the team,

“It has been a great experience and we would like to thank the Newbold Comyn Arms and the college for all their support in helping to raise the profile of and funds for the Myton Hospices.”
