Woman threatened with rape during robbery in Leamington

A woman was threatened with rape and pushed to the floor during a robbery in Leamington on Tuesday evening.

The incident, in which the woman also had her iPhone 4 stolen, happened in Leam Terrace at about 6.45pm.

Her attacker, who assaulted her while she was on the phone and also tried to grab her handbag, has been described as a white male in his mid twenties and of stocky build.

He was wearing jeans, a grey hoody and a woollen hat.

After the assault he walked off in the direction of Radford Road.

Police searched the area and have carried out house to house enquiries.

The victim was checked over by ambulance staff and was not seriously injured but she was very shaken by the incident.
