Flamingo croquet, a magic show - and of course the weirdest and most wonderful hats - will feature in a charity Mad Hatters’ Tea Party in Leamington.

Liz Weston is organising the Alice In Wonderland-inspired event, which is raising funds for Acorns Children’s Hospice and Warwickshire Disability, in celebration of the 150th anniversary of the book written by Lewis Carroll.

The party will be held at Leamington Real Tennis Club in Bedford Street, normally only open to members.

Liz said: “As well as a fantastic homemade spread of Wonderland-worthy afternoon tea treats that would make the March Hare jump for joy, the party will include a charity prize draw, an auction, close-up magic, and a contemporary twist on flamingo croquet, as well as a charity roulette table manned by some of Wonderland’s best-loved residents.”

Tickets to the party, which takes place on October 16 at 3pm, cost £35, which includes a welcome drink and afternoon tea. Evening tickets cost £10, which includes a hot buffet. Proceeds will be divided between the two charities. For tickets, email [email protected] or [email protected]
