The National Blood Service has urged Warwick people to attend donor sessions in May to make up for shortfalls caused by Bank Holiday weekends.
Many people go away during the two long weekends leading to shortages in blood stocks at hospitals.
Anyone aged between 17 and 59, weighing more than 7st 12lbs and in general good health can potentially give blood, but only four per cent of the population are registered donors.
Blood service spokesman Cathy Davies said: “We understand that people use the bank holiday weekends as an opportunity to go away, but the demand for blood never stops.”
There will be donor sessions at the Nelson Club in Charles Street, Warwick on Tuesday between 1.30pm and 3.30pm and from 4.30pm to 7.30pm. Call 0845 7711 711 to book an appointment.
