Young pirates can learn how to make a cutlass, hat and eye patch at Hill Close Gardens on May 29.
Children can also have their faces painted in preparation for a treasure hunt in the restored Victorian gardens, which have been restored by residents using lottery money.

There will also be garden trails for three age groups open throughout half term, with special features to find among the plots.

All youngsters must be accompanied by an adult. Taking part in the treasure hunt costs £1 per child. Sessions will run from 2pm to 3pm and 3.30pm to 4.30pm. Call 493339 to book places.
