Cycling sisters riding north to south to raise money to fight motor neurone disease have thanked people in Warwick for their support.
Elizabeth and Louise Gardiner rode 264 miles from Louise's home in Manchester to Dorset from September 14 to 19 to raise money to for the Motor Neurone Disease Association.

Their stepfather, Jack Burkitt was diagnosed with the disease in August 2007 and died on September 25. He lived to see his two stepdaughters complete the fundraising ride to his home in Devon.

The sisters raised more than £7,000 and on the way they received free lodging and breakfast at the Warwick Arms Hotel. They were grateful to everyone who sponsored them and donated extra money along the way.

Louise said: "Very sadly Jack died shortly after the bike ride - however his amazing determination enabled him to enjoy memories of seeing us finish the bike ride and being with friends and family afterwards. He was overwhelmed and so grateful of everyone's generosity and support. We hope it will make a difference for all those fighting MND and their families and for the wonderful work the MND Association does."
