Working with the United Nations must be among the most impressive entries you can have on a CV - and the new chairman of Warwick Probus Club can boast exactly that.
Before his retirement, Eric Wightman was a computer aided design and manufacture to the UN’s industrial development organisation, which helped developing countries in Latin America, the Middle East and the Far East.

At the club’s annual meeting on March 19 Mr Wightman, also a former technical director at Alfred Herbert Machine Tools, took on the chairman’s chain of office from John Bleasdale.

Also handing over responsibility was the club’s secretary of seven years Ian Woods, to be succeeded by Richard Musto.

The club, which holds monthly talks at Warwick Racing Club as well as other social events, has raised £380 for Myton Hospice during the year.
