Warwick's Mike McCarry sent us these pictures of an unusual visitor to his All Saints Road home.
When the owl and the pussycat went to sea in the Edward Lear poem it was a beautiful moonlit occasion.

But there appears to have been a little less romance in the air when the McCarrys' cat spotted a barn owl through the window.

Inspired to pen some poetry of his own, Mr McCarry wrote: "The owl and the pussycat stared it out on a beautiful July morn.

"Each angrily thought if the other got closer it'll wish that it hadn't been born.

"They hissed and they flapped while I simply snapped when the missus was sleeping upstairs.

"But try as they might they just couldn't fight and eventually went their own ways."

The bird has a black ring on its right leg and appears to be semi-tame. If anyone knows who it belongs to, click here.
