Review: Al Murray's Beautiful British tour, Butterworth Hall, Warwick Arts Centre, Saturday November 13, 8pm.
Hilarious. Taking on the character of a pub Landlord, comedian Al Murray had the audience in stitches with his quick timing and banter with front-row fans.
Set against a backdrop of beer barrels, the stand-up attempted to mend "broken Britain" with his rants about teenagers, drinking and getting on with work mates.
Spontaneous interaction with the audience took up most of the first half.
One health and safety officer had a tough time as the comedian poured beer onto the stage to express his anger at the profession, before firing crisps into the audience using a water-pistol-style device.
Covering issues from marriage and divorce to the recession, Murray's witty but harsh sense of humour had me in hysterics.
In the second half, he called fans on stage to do a conga-style dance before climbing over seats to confront a bank worker about the country's missing millions.
He ended the gig with a comedy tune warning the audience that the country needs to stick together.

Verdict: Clever, brilliantly funny.
