Leaders Leamington extended their unbeaten BGB Southern League Division One Midlands run to nine games on Saturday.
But with Evesham and Sutton Coldfield both winning, many fans will see this as two points dropped rather than one gained from a low-key match.

The performance at Kayte Lane certainly bore little resemblance to last week's 2-0 win at Chasetown.

An injury to midfielder Liam Reynolds after only two minutes did not help Brakes' cause and the home side had much the better of the first half. Jason Cadden's men managed few shots on goal.

At the other end Luke Corbett put a good effort just over the bar in the third minute and also brought a fine save from Richard Morris, making his 250th appearance for Brakes.

On 35 minutes, the Brakes defence failed to clear a corner and the ball fell to Mike Davis on the edge of the penalty area, but he put his shot wide of the post.

The closest the visitors came was a header from Guy Sanders from an inswinging Jamie Towers corner that home keeper Sam Gilder tipped over the bar.

Leamington stepped up gear in the second half with the new strike partnership of Robbie Beard and Keith Rostill working hard to break down the Cleeve defence.

James Husband released Towers down the middle, but Allton Axton got in a good tackle to deny him a shot on goal.

Towers was providing good crosses from the right. Cooper almost converted one, but Gilder saved his header at the second attempt.

At the other end Davis put in a well-flighted cross to the far post, where Kevin Slack failed to control the ball.

With Brakes seeking to break the deadlock, Stuart Herlihy also went close, just failing to connect with a Husband cross from the left and, on 74 minutes, Ben Mackey created space for himself on the edge of the penalty area, but put his shot over.

Home keeper Gilder coped well but got lucky with four minutes to go, touching substitute Vijay Sidhu's effort onto the bar. The ball bounced loose, but the impressive Davis was on hand to clear the danger.

Sanders went close, his shot just going the wrong side of the post from the resultant corner.

Brakes: Richard Morris, Jamie Towers (Ryan Parisi 78), Arron Parkinson (capt], Adam Cooper, Guy Sanders, Stuart Herlihy, Liam Reynolds (Craig Dutton 2), Ben Mackey, Robbie Beard, Keith Rostill (Vijay Sidhu 84), James Husband. Subs not used: Martin Hier, Martin Thompson. Att 272.

Iwish people would look at the bigger picture when annalysing brakes results yes a draw with bihops cleeve was dissapointing however put in context as one result in an awkward run of four away fixtures from which any fan would settle for ten points and four from first two when of those is chasetown we are still on track plus this is our maiden season at this level come on give the team some credit and when we go to berkhampstead on last day of season needing one point for championship remember you read it here first courtersy of mystic stan the brakes fan
