Summer signing Mark Bellingham fired a hat trick as Brakes continued an impressive pre-season with a good win over Moors.
A 360-strong crowd enjoyed a performance to match the perfect weather and the home supporters had something to cheer about after two minutes.

Jamie Towers crossed beyond the back post, Josh Blake guided the ball back into the six-yard box and Luke Corbett set up Mark Bellingham to poach a goal from close range.

Moors replied quickly when Jason Moore crossed for Darren Middleton to head past Richard Morris, who had little chance.

Marcus Jackson was back in black and gold after a long spell training with Hinckley United but his afternoon was cut short when he ran into an accidental elbow. Despite trying to continue was substituted for Liam Reynolds on 12 minutes.

Blake fired wide as the game ebbed and flowed and Moors' keeper Daniel Crane had to be alert to collect the ball from Bellingham's toe when Corbett flicked the ball through.

In an important 60 seconds Brakes survived a headed effort from Junior English, which hit the post, and a towering defensive header from Martin Heir sent Bellingham through.

Despite Theo Streete grabbing Bellingham's shirt the striker accelerated away and sent the ball past Crane to make it 2-1 to Leamington.

The half closed with Brakes applying the pressure as Adam Cooper and Reynolds had efforts deflected harmlessly and Blake showed typical persistance to ride a number of tackles before blazing just over.

Ryan Parisi was introduced after half-time and Bellingham was gifted his hat-trick five miuntes after the re-start when Crane fluffed a clearance and the Brakes man nipped in to shot home from an acute angle.

The hot sun caused both sides to make changes and Bellingham and Corbett were subsituted to great applause.

But this did not lead to any respite for the visitors as Shay Morgan came on and beat two defenders and shot narrowly wide with his first touches.

Another flowing Brakes move saw Blake thump a low cross towards the far post which was cleared.

Moors' Andy Ritchie shot goalwards and Hier slid the ball away for a corner and the same player headed down for Peter Faulds but his drive was a foot wide.

A James Husband free kick found Blake who header went over as substitute keeper Adam Rachel left his line and at the other end Morris had to be alert racing out to nick the ball off the toe of Gary McPhee to bring the entertainment to an end.

Visitor Phil Hiscox, secretary of the Carlsberg South West Peninsula league of Devon and Cornwall took a break from the nearby FA seminar conducted by non league supremo Mike Appleby to cast his expert eye over the proceedings and he left suitably impressed by what he had seen.
