Leamington chairman David Hucker is in talks with local businessmen about strengthening the board at the New Windmill.
In a move not widely noticed last month former chairman Mick Brady resigned his seat, creating a vacancy.

Since then the club has held discussions with several people about getting involved and a new director is likely to be named soon.

Mr Hucker said: "It is important we bring in people who already have some connection and feel for the club and who are committed to our ethos and ideals."

"We are a family club that is developing its involvement within the wider community and is run on sound business principles. These are the cornerstones of our success and must remain so for the future."

He added: "Mick stayed on the board to provide continuity and support since August, when he relinquished the role of chairman."

"As the club's president, Mick will still be helping out behind the scenes and I very much value his support as a member of the team."
