Brakes shareholders will be at the New Windmill on Sunday for the annual meeting of Leamington FC Ltd.
A secret ballot will be held to elect directors.

One third of the board retires each year by rotation and Nigel Hodgkins and Terry Ford are standing down this time.

Both want to be re-elected, as does Harvey Hunt.

Mr Hunt, managing director of ACS Building & Maintenance, replaced former chairman Mick Brady on the board in May but must now be voted in if he is to continue as a director.

Chairman David Hucker has made it clear how he wants the vote to go. In a statement posted on the club website he said: "There are three vacancies and three candidates, so they can all be elected."

"However, they do not come as a package but as individuals and shareholders can elect as many as they wish. Not every vacancy on the board has to be filled."

"In looking at the candidates, shareholders need to consider who is best able to take the club forward and manage its affairs in their interests."

"Both Nigel Hodgkins and Harvey Hunt come with the unanimous support of the other directors."

Proceedings start at 11am. Only shareholders and their appointed proxies can attend.

Brakes have been drawn at home in the preliminary round of the FA Cup on Saturday August 30, when the winners of the extra-preliminary round tie between Staveley Miners Welfare and Bridgnorth Town will visit the New Windmill.

In the FA Trophy first qualifying round Brakes go to newly promoted Unibond Division One South side Glapwell on October 18. Glapwell is in Derbyshire.

Paul O'Rafferty of Leamington Lions won the Charter Standard Coach of the Year Award in the Birmingham County FA annual awards at the NEC.

The Lions chairman, known to all as 'Raff', was selected from 200 coaches to win the award for his work with the women's and girls' set-up.

He said: "I am very proud of what I have achieved over the past six years, but I couldn't have done it without the support of my family and everyone else involved with the Lions."

Leamington pre-season friendlies. Jul 19 Newport County H (3pm); Jul 22 Wellingborough Town A (7.45pm); Jul 26 Solihull Moors H (3pm); Jul 29 Stratford Town A (7.45pm); Aug 2 Wimborne Town A (3pm); Aug 5 Bishops Cleeve A (7.45pm).
