Leamington twice came from behind to fortify their hold on second place in BGB Southern League Division One Midlands on Monday night.
Liam Reynolds and captain Guy Sanders scored at Coles Lane to earn a point for Brakes at third-placed Sutton and keep the gap between the two sides to six points.

The hosts had the better of the first half, although Josh Blake almost took advantage of an early error by keeper Chris Gemmill. At the other end Richard Morris did well to save a header from Jimmy Quiggin.

Sutton took the lead in the 11th minute when Ed Booth rose through a crowd of players to head home a Matt Jackson free kick. It seemed Morris had been impeded as he went up for the ball, but the referee didn't see it.

Sutton could have scored a second on 18 minutes, but Morris dived to his right to save captain Leon Doughty's free kick. He denied Nathan Moran before Brakes drew level when Reynolds converted an inswinging Marcus Jackson corner from the left on 32 minutes.

Sutton regained the lead within three minutes of the re-start when the unmarked Moran smashed a fierce shot past Morris. Brakes almost drew level again when Ryan Parisi's goalbound header from Jackson's cross was well saved by Gemmill.

Ben Mackey also had a shot well saved but Sutton were pressing for a third. Both Arron Parkinson and Sanders cleared off the line.

With Brakes seemingly heading for defeat, Sanders struck the equaliser ten minutes form the end with a thunderous free kick.

Morris saved well from Justin Rowe in the closing stages and Mackey sent a shot across the face of the goal, but no one was able to connect.

Manager Jason Cadden said: "There was never any doubt in my mind that we would get the equaliser and it was important not to lose to ensure the gap between the two of us didn't narrow."

Brakes: Richard Morris, Ryan Parisi, Arron Parkinson, Guy Sanders (capt], Martin Hier, Craig Dutton, Liam Reynolds (Jamie Towers 71), Ben Mackey, Josh Blake, Keith Rostill (Martin Thompson 84), Marcus Jackson. Subs not used: James Husband, Adam Cooper, Andy Harper. Att 391.
