The 19-year-old has joined Brakes on loan from the League One leaders and is in contention to make his first start when Hitchin Town visit the Phillips 66 Community Stadium on Saturday.

Austin joins fellow new addition Courtney Baker-Richardson in freshening up the squad and Holleran admits he has had his eye on the Stourbridge-born forward for a while.

“He’s a player who came to our attention last year and someone we’ve been trying to get from the start of the season.

“He went to Telford but now he’s back at Burton and now Nigel (Clough) is there we got some dialogue going.

“With Sam you’ve got someone who is two-footed and can beat a player. He gets in behind teams and he’s got a goal in him.”

Austin, who has made one league bow for Burton, turned out six times for AFC Telford in the Conference North after impressing at Rushall last season.
