Manuel signing is statement of intent by Hibs, says Kay

Leamington Hibs player-coach Rich Kay has hailed the signing of goalkeeper Olly Manuel as a major coup for the Midland Combination Division Two side.

Manuel joins former Kenilworth Town forward Adam Edwards and Whitnash Town’s Ryan Woodward in moving to Ajax Park and Kay says the three new additions will have a massive impact at both ends of the pitch.

“Signing Olly is a massive statement of intent for this football club,” said Kay.

“Olly has wanted for some time to cut down on his football commitments.

“As soon as I knew of his intentions I’ve worked hard to attract him to the club.

“Olly is right up there as the best keeper in the whole of the Midland Combination.

“He is a winner and has the mentality we need if we are to challenge seriously in the league.”

Kay added: “Scoring goals last season was our biggest issue.

“Adam and Ryan will both add goals as they are both great finishers.

“Both will fit into our passing game well as both lads are good footballers.”
