Leamington bike enthusiast Mark Hill admitted he fulfilled a dream by taking part in the inaugural No Limits Club Bikes Championship.
However, the 40-year-old was left pinching himself after finishing the ten-race series third in the 600CC category and second novice.
Hill, who works as a forklift driver at Rangemaster, has been taking part in track days for the past seven years, but said the step up to proper racing on circuits including Donnington, Snetterton and Oulton Park, was a daunting one.
“It was something I’ve always wanted to do but it was a bit nerve-racking at first,” said Hill, whose inital fears were quickly allayed when he finished second in his opening race.
The chance to take part in the first year of the No Limits series meant sacrifices for Hill, with holidays among the luxuries making way as he pursued his dream.
And he says he will need to find additional support in order to continue in next year’s expanded championship.
“Money’s tight,” he said. “I’ll need sponsorship to do it again.
“Hopefully I will be able to get some backing as I’m aiming to try and win it next year.”
