Robinson in position to repeat 1995 success
Robinson, the 1995 champion, got off to the better start against Nigel Croft (Nelson), dominating the opener with runs of 24 and 22.
Croft responded with a 26 break in the second frame to leave Robinson requiring two snookers on the brown, which he got before pinching the frame on the black to take a 2-0 lead.

Hide AdIt was one-way traffic in the third frame as Croft halved the arrears with a 29 break.
A break of 34 from Robinson put him in charge in the next before an uncharacteristic foul kept Croft’s hopes alive. However, after a long bout of safety Robinson potted the pink to take a 3-1 lead.
Croft dominated the fifth, limiting Robinson to just seven points to make it 3-2 before breaks of 26 and 23 allowed the Priors man to clinch the match.
Defending champion Phil Parkin (Nelson) dominated his last-four clash against Terry Robinson to exact revenge for his defeat to the Harbury man in the under-35s’ competition.

Hide AdParkin knocked in breaks of 51 and 49 on his way to a 4-0 victory.
In the under-35s, Warwick Cons’ Ben Deller edged out A Division clubmate Gary Murphy 3-2 thanks to two runs of 44.
The second semi-final was an all- Harbury affair as six-times winner Terry Robinson took on Sam Blundell, himself a two-times champion.
Robinson started like a train, compiling a 44 break and barely giving Blundell a shot in the opener.

Hide AdA 31 in the second helped Blundell settle but Robinson countered with a 37 to take a 2-0 lead.
Blundell battled back in the third frame to keep his hopes alive and runs of 35 and 30 in the fourth forced the match into a decider.
Blundell then completed a dramatic turnaround with a 45 break booking his place in the final.
In the Warwickshire Beer Leamington & District Premier Division, a 70 break from Gary Bradley set Priors on their way to a 7-0 home win against Lillington 2nds, helping them clinch the runners-up spot in the process.

Hide AdWindsor pushed Priors all the way and they too won 7-0, at home to relegated Frames 4ths.
Frames 3rds prepared for their Stan Ward Cup final with a 4-3 win over Home Guard and champions Nelson signed off with a 5-2 win against Lillington, which included a 63 break from Phil Parkin.
A Division champions Bishops Tachbrook warmed up for their Courier Cup final with a 5-2 win over Home Guard to finish the season with just two losses.
Warwick Cons 2nds finished third despite a 4-3 defeat in their last match to Kenilworth Cons 2nds and Lillington 3rds signed off with a 5-2 win over Kenilworth S&S.
