PARISH COUNCILLORS
Because the parish council should have 11 members and only nine were nominated, the two vacancies will be filled by co-option.
Any parishioner interested in being considered for co-option should apply before Mond
ay, giving the reasons why they would like to be co-opted, to Mrs A Weller, Kilsby PC, 18 Church Street, Byfield, NN11 6XN, or by email to wellerbyfield@waitrose.com.

WOMEN'S INSTITUTE
This year's resolutions about bottom trawling and the imprisonment of severely mentally ill criminals provoked some interesting discussion at the May meeting.

Members were concerned about the impact on

fishermen's livelihoods a total ban on bottom trawling would have.
They also felt that severely mentally ill prisoners are fairly well catered for already and that the need for improvements in the treatment of prisoners with mental health problems lies further down the scale.
Names are now being taken for the August mystery trip on Wednesday, August 13, which is also open to non-members.

Further information is available from B Marlow or M Hunt.
