Village news for Preston Capes (March 19)
CHURCH SERVICES
Sunday, 10am, Mothering Sunday family service, Preston Capes Church. Posies will be assembled and distributed during the service, and flowers and refreshments will be provided.
WOMEN'S INSTITUTE
Wi
ll be holding its spring coffee morning at the village hall on Saturday from 10.30am to noon. Come and have your morning coffee, then choose some delicious cake(s) – either for Mothering Sunday, or to eat while watching the rugby in the afternoon.
Also present will be Phoenix Cards, who will be selling a large selection of greetings cards and wrapping paper.
VILLAGE FETE
Will be taking place on the afternoon of Sunday, July 12 in and around the church square. It is hoped that this year's fete will be as successful (or even more so!) than last year's record-breaker, but for this to happen we need your help.
Although there is already an active fete committee (comprised of members of the village hall committee and parochial church council), we needs lots of volunteers to help set up (and take down) on the day, run stalls and help with refreshments and other behind the scenes activities.
If you can help with any of the above – or would like to be involved in any other way – please come along to a fete volunteers meeting at the village hall at 7.45pm on Tuesday, April 7.
