Invited guests enjoyed Motionhouse Dance Theatre's 20th anniversary celebrations at their site in Spencer Yard Cultural Quarter in Leamington.
Around 100 people enjoyed an evening of entertainment provided by the company, speeches, food and wine on July 8.

Executive director and co-founder Louise Richards said afterwards: “It was a great evening and the atmosphere was warm and friendly. It was wonderful to see so many old faces as well as friends and supporters from more recent years.”

Speakers included artistic director Kevin Finnan, regional executive director of Arts Council England West Midlands Sally Luton, Warwick Arts Centre director Alan Rivett and Motionhouse dancers from the past.

Two performances were staged - Chaser and Underground, which both are Motionhouse dance pieces created for performance in the public arena and are currently touring street arts festivals in the UK and Europe.

Kevin Finnan said: “This event was really special and it was wonderful to be able to share it with so many people who have contributed to the entire history of the company, from the beginning to the latest work.

“I feel this event affirmed our place as part of Leamington’s cultural scene.

“It is also enjoyable to have our 20th birthday coincide with such an exciting time in the company’s history.”
