After last year's swamp-like conditions, ravers basked in the sun and wandered the Long Marston Airfield site at the weekend in day-glo bikinis and boots.

By 7pm on Friday the VIP camping area was packed, but the showers, seats with toilets and jacuzzis made it too appealing to look elsewhere.

Once pitched, the night started with an impressive show by controversial headliner hip-hop artist Kanye West - not an obvious choice for a dance music event, but the crowds loved it.

In the house music tent, DJ Eric Prydz was playing a pounding set followed by DJ Tiesto whose thousands of fans were chanting his name 20 minutes before he even took to the stage.

Amazing moving visuals and a light show helped create an electric atmosphere. Over in the drum and base tent the Scratch Perverts were entertaining the masses before the Stanton Warriors rocked the crowd.

Two DJs played their tracks while their energetic MC kept the crowd going until the small hours.

On the walk back to the tents, many revellers continued to keep the energy going by stopping off at the fairground rides for a quick bungy jump before bed.

But for some of us a honey and banana waffle and cup of tea seemed like a much more sensible option. Holly Whitmill
Verdict: Fun in the sun.
