Quartet to bring fitting end to Leamington concert season
The Brodsky Quartet returns to the town with a concert at the Pump Room at 7.30pm.
They will begin and end the concert with works by Schubert, his one-movement Quartettsatz D703 to start and one of his masterpieces, the Death and the Maiden Quartet, to finish.

Festival director Richard Phillips said: “I can think of few other quartets which could play Schubert’s great work with such commitment. It will make a wonderful climax to an outstanding season.”
The Brodsky Quartet, which was founded in 1972, has given over 2000 concerts worldwide and made over fifty recordings. The Quartet spent ten days in Perth, Australia in February, performing the complete cycle of 15quartets by Shostakovich.
Details of the 2017/18 season will be announced at the concert, and Mr Phillips will talk about the 2017 Leamington Music Festival Weekend in the Conservatory of the Pump room at 6.15. All are welcome.
