Leamington landmarks feature in JK Rowling's new book - but her description of the town hall is less than complimentary!

Seeing as the last four books have all been televised, maybe camera crews will soon be in Leamington

It is fair to say that Leamington features widely in JK Rowling's latest book, Troubled Blood, under her pseudonym Robert Galbraith.

The book, which was released this month, mentions many local landmarks - and this has given hope that the TV cameras will be in town if the book is turned into a BBC adaptation.

JK Rowling was previously spotted in Leamington making notes about the town for her book.

One of the lead characters parks in Priory Terrace, visits All Saints' church, has coffee in the Old Library, visits the Pump Room Gardens, buys food at the Co-Op and sleeps at the Premier Inn. Warwick is also mentioned briefly.

Leamington resident Anita Prinjha said: "It is a pity though that our town hall is described as “spectacularly ugly...over embellished with scrolls, pediments and lions!

"I have read all of the Strike books and watched the BBC adaptations and I was very excited to see the various local venues and landmarks mentioned.

"I am going to visit All Saints Church and I am also going to go and have another look at our town hall as I don’t agree with JK Rowlings description!

"Seeing as the last four books have all been televised hopefully camera crews will be in Leamington when this one is filmed."
