The Kingsley School in Beauchamp Avenue, Leamington, is hosting the Leamington Music Prizewinners’ Concert on Tuesday at 7.30pm.

The winners, who competed at Birmingham Conservatoire in February, were a Piano Trio - made up of former Kingsley pupil and cellist Lucy French, Bulgarian violinist Zhivko Georgiev and Taiwanese pianist Yu-Fen Lin - and mezzo soprano Claire Barnett-Jones.

Lucy French has played with the Warwickshire County Youth Orchestra and has been principal cellist of the City of Birmingham Symphony Youth Orchestra and the National Youth Orchestra.

Somerset-born Claire Barnett-Jones, who studied at the Royal Academy of Music in London, sang solo at the BBC Proms this summer and won six other prizes at the Birmingham Conservatoire on top of the Leamington Music Prize. She will be accompanied by Jonathan French at Tuesday’s performance.

She and the trio will also give a workshop for Kingsley pupils before the concert.

The concert is one of five to be put on this month by Leamington Music. The Arcadia String Quartet performed at the Pump Room in Leamington last Friday and the Benyounes String Quartet perform at the same venue on November 29. I Flautisti will give a family concert at the Spa Centre on November 9 and music by Handel will be performed by the University of Warwick Chamber Choir, five soloists and an English Touring Opera period orchestra at St Mary’s church Warwick on November 12.
