Winchcombe Farm glamping retreat in Warwickshire offers five-star luxury that really is the stuff of fairytales

After the stresses and strains of the coronavirus lockdown, I can’t think of a more idyllic place to have a holiday than Winchcombe Farm.

Leaving the children in safe hands at home, my partner Stephen and I headed to Upper Tysoe - on a stunningly beautiful Sunday afternoon.

When we arrived at Will’s Tree House, we really were lost for words.

Nestled in rolling Warwickshire countryside, the tree house is a truly breath-taking architecturally designed unique structure.

The building is set on four sycamore and ash trees with three of them poking through the outside deck and one growing through the kitchen.

Inside you walk into a cosy kitchen with a welcome pack of cake and fruit, which was a really nice touch.

The bathroom was nice and clean and just outside the door one of the trees is visible through a panel. I was like a child when I saw it lit up too. Just magical.

This luxurious abode has a bubbling hot tub situated on a lower deck, which you can walk into from ground level via the upper deck, with a comfy seating area also on the lower deck and complimentary towelling robes provided for all guests.

The woodland area which the tree house nestles in is a children’s paradise and includes lookout tower, climbing frame for toddlers and ground level trampoline.

We enjoyed making friends with the alpacas and ponies on our doorstep, kids willl love it too.

The main living space is spacious and clean. It features a comfy double bed plus a foldaway bunk and french doors that lead back out onto the decking area and the all-important hot tub, where we spent most of our time with a cheeky glass of bubbly in hand.

We had perfect seasonal weather, so stoked up the barbecue on the patio and enjoyed a romantic meal under the stars as the sun went down.

Will’s Treehouse is the perfect getaway for couples, but a truly fairytale location for children.

If you fancy getting creative with the little ones, why not make your own pizza for the pizza oven?

Wi-fi and a gaming console are supplied and there’s also a huge television, which I’m glad to say we kept off throughout our wonderful stay.

Steve is disabled and we both remarked on the good standard of facilities for less able-bodied guests.

Winchcombe Farm owners Jo Carroll and Steve Taylor, were so welcoming, but gave us the freedom and space to do as we pleased.

They’ve done an amazing job on this former nursery, which really is a unique glamping experience.

Prices for Will’s Tree House start at £255 to £405 per night.

Winchcombe also boasts three other lodges, George’s Getaway that sleeps six adults and two children, Bob’s Lodge, which sleeps six and the Chicken Shed that sleeps five and Ben’s Burrow, which sleeps up to nine.

We are already planning our next visit back to Winchcombe Farm.
