A seven-year-old boy has escaped with minor injuries after being hit by a car outside St Nicholas School on Friday morning.
Officers were called to Albion Street at around 8.45am on January 9 after reports that the boy was struck while crossing the road with his mother.
Ambulance crews and officers were called to the scene where the boy was treated for minor injures. His mother was not hurt in the incident.
Police are now appealing for witnessed to help track down the driver of a grey or blue Renault who failed to stop following the incident.
A spokesman for Warwickshire Police said: “A seven-year-old boy was crossing the road when he was hit by a car.
“Luckily he suffered only minor injuries and his mother was uninjured.
“We are now appealing for help to trace the driver of the car - a grey or blue Renault - who failed to stop at the scene.
“Police enquiries are ongoing in the area in an attempt to trace the driver and we ask any witnesses to contact us on 101 quoting incident number 59 of January 9.”
