Representatives from a range of businesses turned out for Coventry and Warwickshire Chamber of Commerce’s #CWRocks Business Trade Expo at the Ricoh Arena, in Coventry.

The event helped launch the chamber’s Go For Growth: Trade Local campaign to encourage more firms across the area to trade with one another.

The expo also featured opportunities to network and a series of Learning Labs to help inform companies on issues relating to the region and their business.

A Trade Local panel heard from procurement professionals at Coventry City Council, Warwickshire County Council, LEVC and the Coventry & Warwickshire NHS Partnership Trust as well as from Jeremy Moore of the CWLEP Growth Hub.

Tracy Westall and Sarah Perry gave inspirational speeches at the Women In Business Learning Lab before the final session with Coventry City of Culture Trust’s creative director Chenine Bhathena.

Chris Nagle, of the Chamber, said: “We were delighted with the response from businesses. It was the perfect setting for the launch of Go For Growth: Trade Local.”

He added: “It was a chance to showcase many hundreds of businesses in our region to one another and to learn of opportunities to trade with major organisations.

“As well as the hundreds of businesses at the event, many hundreds more watched live as we broadcast the Learning Labs over Facebook, which is a first for our #CWRocks Expo.

“Many of the businesses we spoke to at the end of the day said they’d met some great contacts and that they would potentially be doing business together, which is exactly what the event is all about.”
